Retro slasher chaos and camp carnage for FX
The montage above features amix of episodic packaging created by K2B and teaser footage created by FX.

A blood soaked, sex-happy 80S slasher homage.

When the creative brief starts off this way, excitement abounds in our studio!

FX invited Kill 2 Birds to create episodic promo packaging for the ninth season of ‘American Horror Story’; Ryan Murphy’s terrifying tribute to classic 80’s slasher movies such as Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Children of the Corn.

The genre is well known for it’s camp, both figuratively and literally. With that in mind, we created a conceptual platform called ‘The Arsenal’, featuring iconic slasher weapons of the day, being deployed with great prejudice inside a cabin at ‘Camp Redwood’.

Collaborating closely with the FX team [Steve Viola, Andre Carbonari, Albert Romero] and production mavens, The Joelsons, the concept quickly expanded to a full live-action production that included the destruction of walls and windows, and even featured a cameo from the slasher himself!

Final editorial, color and our 80’s ‘special sauce’ were added in post, creating a toolkit of elements for the FX team to use in the larger AHS 1984 campaign.
